To meet the demand of the retail Industry we have for many years been using a peat reduction product in our compost. We have for the past 2 years now reduced this to 30% wood fibre within the mix. As growers we feel that peat reduction can be achieved, but have seen very mixed results with total peat free growing in the trials that we have undertaken. At the moment we are getting good results and are happy with the 30% reduction being used.

Added to the mix is a 12-14 month slow release fertiliser, giving you a much longer shelf life than many other perennial suppliers. A base feed along with Lime and Dolodust, and 3 grades of peat are blended to give a good open compost allowing free drainage, making an ideal compost for both the 1 and 2 litre pots.
